A Community Investment Movement for Cherry Hill
The concept is simple: one dollar, given one million times, equals one million dollars for Cherry Hill. Every contribution — from a single dollar to a major gift — is one act of investment in the community. Together, they add up to long-term community benefit.
The first $50,000 raised through this campaign will support CHDC's BRHI program and may be eligible for Maryland Community Investment Tax Credits. Additional campaign support will help CHDC advance affordable housing, homeownership, preservation, resident engagement, and long-term community benefit in Cherry Hill.

What Is the $1 a Million Times Campaign?
The “$1 a Million Times” Campaign is a community-centered fundraising and sponsorship initiative designed to mobilize individuals, businesses, institutions, foundations, and supporters around long-term community benefit in Cherry Hill. Every contribution — no matter the size — helps CHDC advance affordable housing, homeownership, preservation, resident engagement, and neighborhood investment.
Every generation of Cherry Hill residents has invested in this community — with their time, their labor, their leadership, and their love. Now CHDC is inviting supporters to help carry that legacy forward — one contribution at a time.

What Your Support Will Advance
Campaign funds are intended to support the following mission-aligned priorities, subject to applicable grant, tax-credit, accounting, approval, and program requirements. Contributions will be used to support CHDC's mission and eligible program activities, with initial CITC-eligible contributions directed to BRHI in accordance with approved program, grant, tax-credit, accounting, and donor-designation requirements.
Create affordable homeownership opportunities
CHDC's Blight Reduction & Homeownership Initiative helps convert vacant and blighted properties into affordable homeownership opportunities for income-qualified buyers. Initial campaign proceeds are intended to prioritize eligible BRHI costs, including affordable homeownership development, buyer readiness support, and related community-benefit activities, subject to grant, tax-credit, accounting, and program requirements.

Tax Credit Opportunity
Maryland Community Investment Tax Credit Opportunity
CHDC is seeking to raise the first $50,000 in eligible contributions for the Blight Reduction & Homeownership Initiative (BRHI). Eligible contributions to CHDC's approved BRHI-related CITC project may qualify donors for Maryland Community Investment Tax Credits equal to up to 50% of the eligible contribution, subject to tax-credit availability, donor eligibility, DHCD approval, and applicable tax rules.
Eligible contributions will help CHDC convert vacant and blighted properties into affordable homeownership opportunities for income-qualified buyers in Cherry Hill.
- Eligible donors may qualify for a Maryland State tax credit equal to 50% of their eligible contribution
- Tax credits are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis until CHDC's allocation is exhausted
- Contributions must support CHDC's approved BRHI-related CITC purpose
- Donors should consult their tax advisor regarding individual tax treatment
Eligible donors who contribute $500 or more to CHDC's approved BRHI-related CITC project may qualify for Maryland State tax credits equal to up to 50% of the eligible contribution, subject to availability, donor eligibility, State approval, and applicable tax rules. Donors should consult their tax advisor.
Eligible contributions to BRHI may provide added tax-credit value while supporting BRHI.
